Nasya Pavsanth 2026

The YSD–ICYM of Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail, successfully organized Nasya Pavsanth 2026 on 2nd August 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at the Holy Family School Grounds. The event witnessed an overwhelming response with around 200 participants registering for various activities.

The programme commenced with a prayer song rendered by the YCS members, invoking God’s blessings on the event. The formal programme was gracefully compered by Evangel Menezes. The gathering was welcomed by Johanna Pereira, President of YSD–ICYM. This was followed by the inauguration of Nasya Pavsanth 2026 by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis. The gathering was then inspired by a meaningful address from Rev. Fr. Praveen Dsouza, Director of ICYM, Mangalore Diocese. During the programme, Mr. Christon Menezes was felicitated and honoured on the occasion of his election as the Diocesan President of ICYM, Mangalore Diocese. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Deona Dsouza, Secretary of YSD–ICYM.

The programme was graced by the presence of Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, Parish Priest; Rev. Fr. Steevan Nelson Peris, Assistant Parish Priest; Rev. Fr. Praveen Dsouza, Director of ICYM, Mangalore Diocese; members of the Parish Pastoral Council of Derebail Church; Mr. Christon Menezes, Diocesan President; Mr. Ryan Noronha, Vice President; Ms. Sonali Dsouza, Joint Secretary; and Mr. Prem Jeethan Pinto, Social Cause Secretary.

Before the commencement of the games, an energetic Zumba session was conducted by Royson, Lenn and their team, encouraging everyone to participate with enthusiasm and setting a lively atmosphere for the rest of the event.

The games and competitions were efficiently organized by Mr Sheldon and his team. The participants were divided into 12 teams, and a variety of age-wise games, team games, and spot games were conducted, ensuring enthusiastic participation from everyone. A lively Spot Dance competition involving all the teams added excitement and entertainment to the event.

A special highlight of the day was the Ramp Walk Competition, which attracted 14 participants. The titles Mr. Nasya Pavsanth 2026 and Ms. Nasya Pavsanth 2026 were awarded to Mr. Ronald Furtado and Ms. Felcy Fernandez, respectively. Ms. Renita from Angelore Parish served as the judge for the competition and appreciated the participants for their confidence and creativity.

The event also featured a wide variety of delicious traditional cuisine. Participants enjoyed authentic delicacies pertaining to the season of Rain along with different pork dishes, kebabs, shawarma, mocktails, and several other food items, making the food festival one of the major attractions of the programme.

An exciting auction was conducted by Mr Sheldon, drawing enthusiastic participation and competitive bidding from the crowd. A gadai ( bunch of bananas) received the highest bid from Mr. Denzil Fernandes, while the jackfruit and pepper wine bottle received the highest bid from the St. Ann's Sisters. A rooster was also auctioned, with the highest bid placed by Mr. Arun Pinto.

At the conclusion of the competitions, the winners were announced. Team 8 emerged as the champions of Nasya Pavsanth 2026, while Team 9 secured the second place. The prizes were distributed amidst loud cheers and applause from the audience.

The event concluded on a joyful note with energetic music by DJ Shawnal, followed by a lively Baila Dance, bringing together participants of all ages in celebration.

 Nasya Pavsanth 2026 was a grand success, fostering fellowship, unity, and community spirit among the parishioners while creating cherished memories for everyone present.
