My Dear Derebail Parishioners, Greetings and blessings to you all. May the Holy Redeemer continue to shower His abundant blessings upon you and your families.

As we bid farewell to the month of July, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the countless blessings the Lord has bestowed upon us. Throughout the month, we have experienced His loving providence and the tender maternal care of our Blessed Mother, who continually intercedes for us.

During the past month, we also bade farewell to some of our beloved parishioners who were called to their eternal home. Let us continue to pray that the Lord may grant them everlasting rest and bring comfort, strength, and hope to their grieving families.

One of the highlights of July was the joyful celebration of Elders' Day on Sunday, 26 July 2026. The programme was jointly organized by the Commission for Family, Commission for Youth, Commission for Liturgy, and the Secular Franciscan Order (SFO). It was a memorable celebration that honoured the elderly and the sick, reminding us that they are treasured members of our parish family. Their faith, wisdom, sacrifices, and constant prayers continue to enrich our community in countless ways. I sincerely thank all the organizers, volunteers, and benefactors whose generous cooperation made this celebration a great success.

As we enter the month of August, we are invited once again to open our hearts to the abundant goodness and grace of God.

Our YSD Youth Group is delighted to organize “Nasya Pavsanth – The Rainy Gala” at the beginning of August. This vibrant gathering aims to bring together our young people and the entire parish community for an evening of fellowship, entertainment, and joyful celebration. I warmly invite everyone to participate, encourage our youth, and enjoy this wonderful occasion of fun, friendship, and togetherness.

Independence Day and the Solemnity of the Assumption

The 15th of August is a unique and grace-filled day for us as Indians and as Catholics, for we celebrate two significant occasions that beautifully complement one another: India's Independence Day and the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Independence Day reminds us with profound gratitude of the immense sacrifices made by our freedom fighters, who dedicated their lives so that our nation might enjoy liberty, justice, and dignity. As responsible citizens, may we renew our commitment to building a nation founded on peace, unity, harmony, integrity, and selfless service to the common good.

On this same day, the Church celebrates the glorious Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory. Mary's Assumption is a powerful sign of hope, reminding us of the eternal destiny that awaits those who faithfully follow God's will. Her life of humility, obedience, purity, and unwavering faith continues to inspire us to become true disciples of Christ. Through her loving intercession, may our nation be blessed with peace, wisdom, justice, and lasting prosperity.

As we journey through this month, let us entrust ourselves, our families, our parish, and our beloved nation to the loving care of Our Blessed Mother.
