Way of Cross and Ward Meeting at Parapade Upper Ward Back
On March 15, 2026, the members of Parapade Upper Ward came together for a meaningful afternoon of prayer and community. The event began at 5:00 PM near the ward’s first cross, where everyone gathered to start the Way of the Cross.
The procession moved through the neighborhood, stopping at 14 stations set up in front of different houses. It was a beautiful sight to see the cross carried with such respect. What made the event special was seeing everyone involved—children, youth, couples, and senior citizens walked and prayed together like one large family. The devotion concluded peacefully at the home of Mrs. Remy Alvares.
After the prayers, Mrs. Clotilda D’souza (Gurkarn) led the ward meeting. This was a good time for neighbours to catch up and talk about ward matters in a friendly atmosphere.
The most touching part of the day was when the ward took a moment to honour their oldest members:
• Mrs. Benedicta Rodrigues (89 years old)
• Mrs. Monica Alvares (94 years old)
The younger members sought their blessings, and seeing the bright smiles on the faces of these two elders made everyone feel extremely happy. It was a simple yet powerful day that brought all the families of Parapade Upper Ward closer together.
