Warm Welcome to Fr. Vinod Lobo Back

Just as the parishioners of Derebail Church were adjusting to the reality of the transfer of Fr. Edwin Monis, they were blessed to receive Fr. Vinod Godwin Lobo who was transferred from the parish of Immaculate Conception, Kinnigoli. The parishioners of Kinnigoli who accompanied Fr. Vinod were welcomed warmly by the parishioners of Derebail on the 2^nd of June 2014 as Fr. Vinod took charge as the Assistant Parish Priest of Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail.

Born on the 18^th of September to Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Juliana Lobo from the city parish of Valencia, Mangalore, Fr. Vinod did his college studies from St. Aloysius College, Mangalore completing his degree in the year 2001. When every other youth would plan for higher education or go in search of a job, Fr. Vinod heard God’s calling and took the vocation of priesthood and joined the seminary on 1^st July 2001. He joined St. Joseph’s Interdiocesan Seminary, Mangalore for his philosophy and later St. Peter’s Pontifical Seminary, Bangalore for his theology. He completed his regency at Our Lady of Dolours Church, Bela and Diaconate at St. Lawrence Church, Moodbelle. He was ordained on 21^st April 2009.

The young, energetic and dynamic Fr. Vinod’s first apostolic work as the assistant parish priest was at Blessed Joseph Vaz Church & Shrine, Mudipu, before being transferred to Immaculate Conception Church, Kinnigoli.

Fr. Vinod has written “Daivik Uzwad”, a spiritual book in Konkani. He loves to work with children, youth & Adults and has visited several parishes & schools for preaching retreats & resourceful talks. His hobbies include Preaching, Writing Articles, Creativity, Singing and Dramatics. His priestly motto is “To be with him & to preach” (Mk. 3:14).
