Sacrament of Confirmation Bestowed Upon 38 Youth

Confirmation is one of the seven sacraments of the Catholic Church. .The Sacrament of Confirmation enables the faithful to be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit, strengthening them in their Christian life. Emeritus Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Most Rev Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to 38 children on June 01st 2019 at Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail during 05:00 PM mass.

The Bishop along with Rev Fr Austin Peres and Rev Fr Gratian Alvares celebrated the holy Eucharistic celebration. In his sermon Bishop stressed the importance of Confirmation Sacrament. He said Holy Spirit comes into our lives and fills us with His gifts and fruit.The faith that one receives in Baptism is matured and hence one has to bear witness to the same.The Bishop then confirmed the 38 youngsters individually. It was a day of joy as the youth along with their Godparents came in procession to be confirmed.

On behalf of the Parishoners Fr Austin and Fr Gratian congratulated and honoured the bishop with a bouquet as he celebrates his 78th birthday and wished him all success in his mission of serving the Church and Jesus.
