YCS Parents–Students Meet 2026–27

The YCS Parents–Students Meet for the year 2026–27 was organized by the YCS Derebail Unit for the parents and Young Catholic Students of the parish.

The programme commenced with a prayer song rendered by the YCS members, followed by the inauguration through the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries.

The Chief Guest and Resource Person, Mrs. Anitha Frank,  Secretary of the Commission for Women, Mangalore Diocese, addressed the gathering on the importance and relevance of YCS in today's world. She emphasized why parents should encourage their children to participate in YCS activities and shared inspiring examples from her own life, as well as the journey of her daughter, who has greatly benefited through YCS.

Ms. Jassica Santhumayor from the Diocese shared her personal YCS experience, highlighting how the movement transformed her from a shy and hesitant individual into a confident leader who now conducts sessions at the state, national, and international levels.

Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis, Parish Priest, also spoke on the importance of YCS in nurturing leadership, faith, and social responsibility among young people.

A special felicitation was held for Ms. Primal Furtado, YCS Animator, in recognition of her outstanding achievements in shooting at the state and national levels.

The programme was compered by Ms. Adleen Sequeira. Mr. Gladson Monteiro, YCS Animator, welcomed the gathering, while the vote of thanks was proposed by YCS Animator Mr. Rohan Monis.

Mr. Denzil Fernandes, Parish Council Vice President; Mrs. Clotilda D'Souza, Parish Council Secretary; Mrs. Helen Menezes,  Catechism Coordinator; and YCS Animators Mr. Gladson Monteiro, Mr. Rohan Monis, Mr. Lenn Sequeira, Ms. Primal Furtado, and Mrs. Jonita Monteiro were also present for the programme.

The programme concluded with the YCS Claps, leaving the participants inspired and motivated to actively engage in the YCS movement.

The YCS Derebail Unit expresses its sincere gratitude to all the guests, parents, students, and well-wishers who contributed to the success of the programme.
