Solemnity of All Saints and All Souls Day at Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail, 2022

The Catholic Church has devoted two consecutive days in its Liturgical Calendar to celebrate All Saints Day and All Souls Day. They comprise the two-day celebration of the Communion of Saints – those who are with God in heaven and those who are on their way to Heaven. On the Solemnity of All Saints, November 1, the Church celebrates those Catholics who achieved spiritual maturity. And, on  November 2, the souls of the departed are prayed for.

Parishioners of Most Holy Redeemer Church participated in the Eucharistic Celebration on these two days. Following the 6 PM mass on November 1, the Parish Priest Rev.Fr. Joseph Martis along with Rev.Fr. Gerald Pinto recited prayers , blessed the cemetery and prayed for the souls of the departed. Parishioners stood beside the graves of their beloved family members and participated in the prayer.  The beautiful flowers with which the graves were decorated and the candles that were lit across the cemetery signified the love that families still have for those that have passed on. The parishioners in unison prayed for the souls of the departed to attain Eternal Rest.
