Sacrament of Confirmation: Bishop Confirms 61 Youth

The Confirmation Ceremony for the youth at Most Holy Redeemer Church in Derebail was held on 23 March, 2022 at 5 PM.
The Holy Confirmation Mass was concelebrated by Most Rev Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore, along with Fr. Austin Peres, Parish Priest, and Fr. Gerald Pinto, Resident Priest. The Bishop underlined the importance of Confirmation in his homily. He emphasised that the Holy Spirit offers individuals greater ability to live out their Christian faith. He encouraged all youngsters to be Jesus Christ's messengers and witnesses in all aspects of their lives.
The Bishop administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to 61 children during the mass.
The Bishop led the confirmation catechism before Mass.
Fr. Austin greeted the Bishop and thanked him for conferring the children. He also thanked all those who helped with the preparation. He congratulated all the children on receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation.
The hymns sung by the Church Choir enhanced the entire ceremony. At the conclusion of the mass, certificates were distributed.
