New Catechetical year 2022-’23 Inaugurated

As per the guidelines given by Mangala Jyothi, the inauguration of the new Catechetical Year was held on Sunday, 5 June, 2022 during the children’s Mass at 9 am.  

The entrance procession comprised of the Catechism Coordinator carrying the Crucifix, the Vice President with the Holy Bible, a couple of parents with lighted candles (representing all parents along with one child from each class, Catechism teachers, the Eucharistic ministers, altar servers and the Celebrants.
The Holy Bible was placed on the decorated table and all those who came in procession proclaimed the importance of the Holy Scripture in their lives through slogans.  The lamp near the Holy Bible was lit from the Paschal Candle signifying the inauguration of the Catechetical year.  Everyone then took the oath to read, meditate and live the Bible in their everyday lives.
The inauguration was followed by the Holy Mass celebrating the feast of the Pentecost.  After the “I believe”, all Catechists came near the altar and took the solemn oath that they would proclaim the Holy Bible and teach catechism with complete dedication during the year.
