Half-Day Seminar for Missionary Children

On 19th May 2025, the Proclamation and Evangelisation Association organized a half-day seminar for the missionary children of The Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail. The event was graced by the presence of Fr. Joseph Martis, Parish Priest; Fr. Nelson Peris, Assistant Parish Priest; Rev. Fr. Harris D'Souza, Diocesan Director of the Proclamation & Evangelisation Association; and Mrs. Sheela D'Souza, Vice President of Parish Council. Also in attendance were Mr. Anil Patrao, Coordinator of the 21 Commissions, Derebail; Mr. Ozwald D’Souza, Convenor of the Association; along with other esteemed members of the Association.

A total of 30 participants took part in the seminar, comprising 18 boys and 12 girls. The programme commenced at 9:00 AM with a prayer led by Fr. Joseph Martis, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The dignitaries were welcomed and honored with roses presented by the participants.

Fr. Joseph Martis delivered the inaugural address, offering guidance on the role of missionaries in spreading God’s love, setting an example through their actions, and serving others in their daily lives. Ms. Diona D’Souza, a dedicated member of the Association, coordinated the programme, leading the participants through engaging ice-breaker activities and action songs.

A one-hour session was conducted by Rev. Fr. Harris D'Souza, who spoke on the importance of living out the missionary calling at home, in schools, among peers, and within the community. After a brief snack break, the participants took part in a variety of interactive activities including quizzes, group tasks, and competitions. Prizes were awarded to the winners by Fr. Nelson Peris.

The seminar concluded with a short Praise Fest, followed by a prayer of thanksgiving before meals. The programme officially ended with lunch at 1:30 PM.
