Good Friday Service at Most Holy Redeemer Church, Derebail

Good Friday is observed by Christians across the world as the day when Jesus Christ was crucified and died at the Calvary. The Good Friday service at Most Holy Redeemer Church began with Prayers of the Church at 8:00am followed by way of the cross at the school grounds.

The evening service commenced at 5:30 P.M. at Holy Family School Grounds. Rev. Fr.Austin Peres , Rev.Fr.Gratian Alvares and Rev.Fr.Richard D'souza chanted the Passion of Christ.In the homily Fr.Richard reflected upon three things ,significance of Good friday, significance of the holy cross , where he expanded the word Cross as C for Christ, R for Resurrection, O for Obedience , S for Salvation and S for Saviour. He also spoke on the significance of the Holy Cross in ones daily life. Homily was followed by Prayers of the faithful, offered for various needs of The Holy Catholic Church and other general purposes , Veneration of the Cross and distribution of Holy Eucharist. Large number of devoted parishioners took part in this ceremony and carried a significant message to face the troubles in life without losing faith in Christ.

The Official Choir of the parish rendered their voices in praise to the Almighty during the service.
