Christmas Celebrations - 2018

Christians all over the world celebrate the birth of Jesus on the 25th of December. On the eve of the Christmas, a Holy mass was at Most Holy Redeemer Church Derebail at 7.30 PM.

Prior to the mass, the parishioners engaged themselves in Carol singing led by the ward members of the parish. The mass was celebrated by Rev.Fr Antony Pinto, Seminary professor with Rev. Fr Vijay Cabral, Rev. Fr. Peter Mascarenhas, Rev. Fr Walter Pinto, Rev.Fr Gratian Alvares and Rev. Fr Austin Peres as the concelebrants. During his homily Fr. Antony stressed that Christmas is the celebration of the love of God who is madly in love with humanity.

The church was festooned with colourful streamers and was brightly decorated. The people who contributed towards the renovation of the church hall were honoured.

The mass ended by venerating baby Jesus by the faithful. Soon after the Mass, the youth of our parish organised variety entertainment for the parishioners. Cake and sugarcane juice was served to all. People greeted each other with Christmas wishes and exchanged the love and affection that is associated with the festival.

A beautiful Christmas crib was made in front of the Church by the youth which was an added attraction to Christmas celebration.
