Assumption of Mother Mary & Flag Hoisting Ceremony at Most Holy Redeemer Church

August 15 is an important date in the Catholic Church as it marks the Assumption of Mary into Heaven. Catholics all over the world celebrate this day by going for mass. 

On this day, Most Holy Redeemer Church offered two masses -6.15 AM and 7.30AM-and the  parishioners participated in this solemnity. 

Following the conclusion of the 7.30 mass, attendees gathered to raise the flag in a patriotic ceremony. Mr.Anil Patrao, the head of 21 commissions, escorted the esteemed guests: Sri. Shashidhar Hegde, Sri. Krishnappa Derebail, and Sri. S.L. Sripada . The event was graced by the presence of Rev. Fr Joseph Martis, the Parish Priest, Assistant Parish Priest Rev. Fr Kevin Dsouza, Parish council Vice President Smt. Sheela D'Souza, and Catholic Sabha president Smt. Wilma Monteiro. The proceedings commenced with a warm welcome extended to the guests.

The Protocol was led by Rishawn, and the gathering joined in singing "Vande Mataram." The honor of hoisting the flag was extended to guest Sri. Shashidhar Hegde followed by our national anthem. Sri. Shashidhar Hegde delivered a speech highlighting the significance of the day. This was followed by brief remarks on Independence Day by Sri. Krishnappa and a short address by Sri. S.L. Sripada.

Gratitude was extended towards the guests and the attendees through Vote of thanks . Sweets were sponsored by the Catholic Sabha. Ms.Primal Furtado was the emcee of the program.
